Representative Fawn Pedalino

Born on May 12, 1987, in Charleston, South Carolina, Fawn Pedalino is a proud member of the Edisto Natchez-Kusso Tribe, one of the state's recognized Native American entities. She graduated from Summerville High School and pursued a career in public service as an Emergency Medical Technician, serving both the 911 system and private companies transporting critical patients to trauma centers. In 2011, she married Joseph Jason Pedalino, and together they have two daughters, Selah and Rumer. The family resides in Turbeville, South Carolina. Beyond her legislative duties, Representative Pedalino serves as an active realtor affiliated with the Sumter Board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.

In November 2022, Pedalino was elected to represent District 64 in the South Carolina House of Representatives, defeating the incumbent Democrat Kimberly Johnson. She made history as the first Republican to hold this seat in Clarendon County.  She serves on the House Interstate Cooperation Committee and the Medical, Military, Public and Municipal Affairs Committee.

Committed to enhancing accountability and transparency within Clarendon County and South Carolina, Representative Pedalino took decisive action in April 2023 by requesting an investigation into potential financial irregularities within the Clarendon County School District. Governor Henry McMaster responded by directing the State Inspector General to conduct a thorough review.  The investigation identified several areas for improvement, including overcompensation of board members, issues with student absenteeism, and deficiencies in internal controls over athletic payments.  As a result, certain board members were required to reimburse the district for overpayments received for unattended meetings.  Additionally, the district was found to have claimed approximately $128,493 in excess state funding due to not removing chronically absent students from enrollment rolls in a timely manner.

Senator Jeff Zell

Jeff Zell's early life in Bellefontaine, Ohio, was marked by challenges, including poverty and time in foster care. Despite these obstacles, he pursued the American Dream by joining the U.S. Air Force after high school. Over a distinguished 20-year military career, Zell earned numerous awards and distinctions, retiring from Shaw Air Force Base.  He holds an associate degree in Munitions Systems Technology from the Community College of the Air Force and a bachelor's degree in Political Science from American Military University, graduating magna cum laude.

Following his military service, Zell continued his commitment to public service by serving on the Sumter School District's Board of Trustees, where he chaired the Ad Hoc Committee on Transportation. His efforts led to the most significant pay raise for bus drivers in the district's history and a 40% reduction in student misconduct within a year.  In November 2024, Zell was elected to represent District 36 in the South Carolina State Senate, defeating incumbent Democrat Kevin Johnson.

Senator Zell is committed to addressing issues such as economic development, government accountability, and public safety. He advocates for responsible economic growth that benefits all communities, particularly those that have been left behind. Zell also emphasizes the importance of restoring trust between the state government and its citizens by rooting out corruption and ensuring transparency.

Together, Representative Pedalino and Senator Zell bring a wealth of experience and a shared commitment to serving the people of Clarendon County. Their diverse backgrounds and dedication to public service position them well to address the unique challenges and opportunities facing their constituents.
